Microsoft Spending Half a Billion on Kinect Commercials

500 Million! That on top of the development and production costs, plus the time travel machine they had to build to go into the future to steal the plans for it. Wow, thats a ton O' moving around.



I did some math, 500 million divided by $150 (the cost of a Kinect boxed solo) and you need to sell 3,333,334 Kinect's to break even, just for the advertising. Microsoft says it will sell 4 million by the holidays. They will eventually sell more but to spend a HALF A BILLION DOLLARS in advertising to make some millions is DUMB. Can't your guys get a better profit margin buying some antiques on E-bay?

Ok I'm done with that. The commercials are pretty cool and I'll get Kinect. I'm just waiting for the perfect bundle. Something cool with a sweet game would be nice. So far I've seen Kinect in Burger King Commercials, and 400 million cans of Pepsi will have Kinect advertisement. Nice Move....oops. The Sony Move is on Coca Cola products, the soda wars are taking on a new battle front.
