For all the gamers who bought Portal 2, SOCOM 4 and Mortal Kombat this week, no multiplayer or tropghies sucks for gamers, but for developers who count on opening week revenue and game play on long holiday weekends this outage could be a deal breaker.
The biggest concern to gamers, other than not being able to play what they paid for is that Sony isn't talking. The only spatter of words from Sony have been,
"While we are investigating the cause of the Network outage, we wanted to alert you that it may be a full day or two before we’re able to get the service completely back up and running. Thank you very much for your patience while we work to resolve this matter. Please stay tuned to this space for more details, and we’ll update you again as soon as we can."
PSN being down for 4 days and no end in sight causes major concern as to the extend of damage done to the Sony system from attacks promised by Anonymous. Anonymous is denying it had anything to do with the service outage. They are calling it an "internal problem in the servers," is it true? We don't know.
Here's hoping the PSN gamers get to play before we're done reading this article.
