Games I played this year. I'm not claiming their the best games of the year or anything of the sort. Just the games I enjoyed.
No. 1 by far is Angry Birds. I play Angry Birds anytime I'm stuck in a line, at a restaurant waiting for my food, the dentist, the doctor...basically any suckie thing that happened this year...I stopped and played Angry Birds.
Now that's a friend.
No. 2 has to be Halo. The Reach daily challenges call me, seriously every morning I get a call from Major Nelson who tells me to get my tush out of bed and get 200 multikills ASAP! I follow orders and get busy.
No. 3 is Call of Duty. Black Ops isn't the same game to me as MW 2 was. Honestly it shouldn't be, we'd complain if it was simply a glorified DLC as in ODST.
I'm having a hard time enjoying Black Ops the same as I did MW 2 but now that I've gotten a bit better weapon it's playable. The uneven playing field, which is the concept of the game, doesn't turn me on or make me want to play. Activision's arrogance doesn't help either. My friends play, I play. When they sign off I go to a game I enjoy.
No. 4. Limbo. Awesome game, great simple graphics makes it to fun to play. It's eerie, dark, violent and addictive.
No. 5. Plants vs Zombies. I have this game on my phone, my laptop and on the Xbox. If I didn't have friends to game with I'd only play P vs Z's. It's tower defense at it's best.
No. 6. In the Crosseyedgamer Arcade is over 2,100 games. I play one everyday. Flag Connect. If the site is down for a few minutes my first thought is " NO FLAG CONNECT!" I need it to survive. Even Kelz has messaged me and said she's given up trying to beat my score. HEAVEN.
No. 7. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. I've got the game, love it when friends come over. Playing Cops and Speeders is more fun than Monopoly. I need a t-shirt that says..."What did I do now Barney?" It's a long story...
No. 8. It's a new game on the iPhone called Assemblage. Your given a pile of shapes to stack so that they stay put for 5 seconds. It's about architecture and puzzles rolled into one. It's fun, creative and challenging. Love it.
No. 9. Red Dead Redemption was a lot of fun when it came out. Getting your friends together and steal their horse was the most fun I've had in a while. We need to play again.
No. 10. Mass Effect 2 was a game Doc and Arty talked me into getting. Loved every minute of it.
No. 11. Peggle. When some meeting gets long and boring, or people feel the need to take out a crappy day on me, I appear busy and Peggle my way through. Love that.
What did you play this year? My list is more fun than yours.
