Stuck on the Main Menu

WOW…I don’t think I have written this many blogs in this short amount of time for awhile. So let’s talk games, Blu-ray, and the five people you’re allowed to cheat on your significant other with.

Last week I mentioned that I had a rather significant backlog of games that I needed to finish up (five total, plus my MLB 2011 season) well I put a rather significant dent into that list by knocking out both Dragon Age II and Crysis 2. Both are great games (Crysis is easily the best game so far this year) and worth a second play through. This is shaping up to be a great year and we haven’t even seen the heavy hitters.

A look at the rest of the year

The rest of the year looks to be one of the strongest in years (07 still reign’s king) with the biggest releases to drop between the end of summer and Christmas. Every genre is getting a AAA quality game so no gamer should feel left out.

Here is a short list by genre of games I am personally picking up..

What the hell is George Lucas thinking?

Later this year the Complete Saga of Star Wars is going to be released on Blu-ray (the awesome three and the shitty three). Leave to Lucas to screw up what should have been the greatest package to date. Instead of getting the Original Theatrical release and his tweaked version (something his diehard fans have been clamoring for) we only get his “tweaked versions”. Overall it’s going to be a nice set and we still have several month until release, but I just don’t understand not including the original theatrical release. That’s the movie we fell in love with. Han shot first…he was suppose to be seen a “scoundrel” changing that hurts the character. I don’t want to full on Star Wars nerd, but if I’m spending over a hundred for this collection then I want the originals with it.

It looks like New Line is finally going to release the Extended Edition’s of The Lord of the Rings on Blu-ray. I really can’t wait to pick this up, I believe the total for the three movies equal ten plus hours of Middle Earth Entertainment. My only question is whether or not they are going to have any “extras” that were not already available on the Extended Edition DVD release. Either way it should be an excellent addition to collection.

My wife and I were watching FRIENDS for the umpteenth time and one of the episodes deals with coming across somewhat famous and getting a “pass” to sleep with them. So we decided to play the game ourselves and I thought why not share my list with everyone else…
