Gamescom 2010 - Xbox 360 not so exclusive

Gamescom, the world's biggest gaming event is back for its second year and is currently taking place in Cologne, Germany. It is buzzing with lots of news and announcements for all of the biggest and most important games.

Probably the biggest shock to come out of Gamescom today is that Mass Effect 2 will be coming to PS3 in January 2011. This was announced by Bioware CEO Ray Muzyka and will be the same as the 360 version but with some added content. I haven't played the game personally but obviously it is tipped by many to become GOTY 2010 so this is massive for Sony to be able to grab a part of this franchise.

It seems that Microsoft doesn't have as much control as it would like over its franchises especially with Valve now making games for the PS3 as well which has led to a few small rumours of Left 4 Dead coming to the PS3 in the future.

The Sony press conference is today at 12 EST so expect more news soon. The Microsoft press conference is tomorrow.
