I thought I would do a blog about my experiences in the Fallout: New Vegas the game is so vast and has so much to do and so many ways of completed tasks that I wanted to share my experiences in that game. I hope some of you will follow and do blogs about games you are playing…whether it is Reach or Black Ops in a couple of weeks.
I picked up the game on release and have a little over 20 hours of game time and I’m currently level 15 with neutral karma (halfway to the level cap). I have set up my character with a focus on “diplomacy”: high speech, barter, science, and guns (sometimes negotiations don’t go so well). I have found out that speech and barter are essential to make the game easier…you earn more caps and waste less ammo killing people you can influence with speech. I also threw a bunch of point at guns…again this is Fallout, for the most part everyone hates you and you need to be able to do some damage when the time comes. I have recently started putting points into repair…having your armor or guns repaired is very expensive and being able to fix them myself has saved me thousands of caps.
Not sure what direction I’m going to go (which faction to side with) I do know it won’t be Caesar’s Legion…after killing about 10 of their recruits and the assassins they sent after me…lets just say we are not on speaking terms. I have one follower (Boone) who has been a fantastic asset. Taking on Black Mountain, that colony of Super Mutant, was significantly easier with Boone hitting them with headshots.
I have found a couple of nice Weapons…a Missile Launcher and a sawed-off shot gun. I sold the Shotgun, but keep the Missile launcher…just in case. If you want to know where I found these items you can Click Here. Some of the better quest that has netted me some nice XP along with some good loot….Black Mountain, The Kings, and Helios 1. Right now I am going to go visit the Brotherhood to Steel. I currently have no plans to finish the main story due to the idiotic game ending quest (Fallout 3 eventually fixed this and allowed you to continue to journey the landscape after finishing the main quest).
Since this is the 1st in the series I wanted to give a little background on my progress in the game...my future blogs will have more accounts of my in game action.
