http://BigBlueTest.org is a program of the Diabetes Hands Foundation (DHF). It takes place every November 14 (World Diabetes Day. People with diabetes are invited to test their blood sugar at 2 pm (local time), do 14 minutes of activity, test again and share the results.

Nov. 14, 2010, DHF is aiming for a minimum of 100,000 views of its Big Blue Test promotional video. DHF will use the donation to help the Life for a Child program, run by the International Diabetes Federation, and Insulin For Life. These two global, humanitarian organizations provide diabetes medication and supplies to children in the world's poorest countries.

In June of last year I was told I had type 2 diabetes. I have a few family members and friends that also have diabetes. So far I am able to just do oral medication to keep things regulated. Of course it also comes down to what I eat as every little thing can mess with your blood sugar levels.

There are so many damn things out there killing people that it tends to make me ill thinking about it. Seems like ever other day someone close is being told they have Cancer or Diabetes or having a heart attack.

We waste billions or I should say our government wastes billions of dollars every fucking day on useless shit while people continue to die from these things. It wouldn't be hard to believe that it is in fact the governments way to controlling the population by letting people die.

It would be easy to fix many of the problems people face yet they do nothing. I am speaking of all government. Neither side has the balls to actually do the right thing. Instead, they just argue back and forth like school kids. Just stop and think about that for a moment. Ever watch a debate or discussion with the congress? A bunch of adults bickering back and forth just because they don't agree on something. Has nothing to do with finding a solution or what solution is the right one. Just argue because I am on this side and you are on that side. Hell, I doubt most of them even know wtf they are arguing about or voting on. Pathetic.

Its sad to say, but for certain governments things like education and medicine (not healthcare, but curing diseases) has a very low priority. I fact when is the last time we cured a disease? Polio? Are they saying in the 20th century our doctors had the ability to cure diseases, but in the age of advanced technology, research and superior education we still can't sure debilitating ailments?

The problem is there is little money to be made in cures. One shot vs. a life time of prescriptions....billions of dollars would be lost for companies like Merck and Pfizer. Come on we found a way to cure limp dick, but they can't find a way to stop unwanted cell growth, or find a way to get the body to regulate it glucose with out having to take daily medicine? I'm sure if the right staff had the resouces and support they could eventually develop a cure.
