Tutorial – Moderators – How To Post An Announcement

This Tutorial will teach all who have access to the Moderator Control Panel how to post an announcement on the forums. First off sending an announcement is a great tool for giving members information. Once an announcement is posted it will show up in the top of the forum(s) chosen to be posted in. Most announcements will be posted in all forums, unless they are specifically for a clan or something.

Ok To send an Announcement, the first thing needed is to be a Moderator or a Global Moderator depending on permissions granted for those usergroups. If you are a Moderator, then you need to go to our main forum page,
www. Crosseyedgamer.com/forums

Once you are on the main forum page, you will need to go to the VERY bottom of that page. Once there you should see several buttons, one of which should say “MOD” as shown in the following screenshot. Note: The Admin only shows up if you are an admin, same for the Mod CP.

Once you click the “Mod” button, you will be taken to a sign in page. The login information is the same as your normal login information, so enter your username and password. After you sign in you will be redirected into the Moderator CP. This is a very important and useful tool to use.NOTE: If you do Not know what something is, DO NOT mess with it.

Once you are in the Moderator CP, you will notice several things. The page will be split into two columns. The main column is where the info appears. From the main page the main column is filled by statistics and search boxes. The other column on the left is the navigation view. From here you can choose many different things. Posting an announcement is easy. One the left near the top will be a menu titled “Announcements.” Click this dropdown box to open up the options for announcements. You have two different options: managing current announcements and posting new announcements.
You will see the Announcement pane in the screenshot below.

Now to post an announcement, of course, click “Post New Announcement.” This will take you to the announcement options area. From here you will be required to enter all infor such as the title, forums the announcement will appear in, the start and end dates for your announcement and the info in the announcements itself. You can view this page in the screenshot below. Below the information shown in this screenshot are the options for the announcements. These should not be messed with unless they are wrong. All settings should say “Yes” EXCEPT allowing HTML, which should be marked as “NO.”

Once you have entered all required information hit the submit button, and the announcement will be posted.

Congratulations, you now know how to post an announcement! I hope this tutorial helped everyone out!

Thanks,
