Just because a game is set in the 1940s doesn't mean there's no room for product placement! 2K Games will be including Playboy branded collectibles in Mafia II, the open world game coming out this fall.
Mafia II will enable players to collect virtual copies of the iconic magazine, which has served as the definitive guide to lifestyle and culture for men since December 1953.
The collectibles will consist of magazine covers and centerfolds, so I presume some of them will be NSFW, but in that relatively chaste way that stuff wasn't safe for work back in the 50s.

I actually think this is kind of cute, compared to the crass nudity Electronic Arts threw into its open-world games. Both The Godfather II and The Saboteur featured women parading around topless for no other reason than having women parade around topless. At least in Mafia II, you can say you're collecting the collectibles for the articles.
