I figured this would happen sooner or later. I guess later. Electronic Arts announced that American McGee's Alice will be back more than ten years after she debuted, but this time without American McGee's name to prop her up. Now she's just Alice in Alice: Madness Returns.

Here's the summary:
The trick is that Alice, now older, is the lone survivor of a house fire that kills her family. She's stuck in an asylum and must regain her own sanity by returning to the madcap Wonderland she visited as a child. She's a darker person now, and, perhaps consequently, Wonderland is correspondingly dark.
Oops, that's from the first game. My bad. Here's the summary for the sequel.
Alice: Madness Returns takes place 10 years after the conclusion of the original game, with Alice struggling to recover from the emotional trauma of losing her entire family in a fatal fire...Alice embarks on a mission to root out the true cause of her family's mysterious death, jumping from a gloomy and stark London to a rich and provocative Wonderland.
Alice: Madness Returns will be developed by the Shanghai studio that made the downloadable Grimm games.
