Default Owners of The Magic Kingdom Buy Playdom

When Disney bought Marvel for $4 Billion, Mickey died of a heart attack and they had to draw a new one. The recent purchase of Playdom for $800 million with all the buy outs and performance packages, only caused Mickey to bat an eye.

Who is Playdom? Playdom is the Social Game Publisher that makes Social City, Sorority Life and Bola for Facebook and My Space. The also have 13 other game developers under their belt.

Personally I'd love to see Sorority Life with the Disney Princesses. That would be too awesome. I personally think Snow White would be the witch of the group, but that's just me.

Disney on Facebook could be a lot of fun but they have to have a big picture to spend almost a billion dollars.

John Pleasants, Playdom’s chief executive, will join Disney as an executive vice president said of the deal. "“We are at the start of a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform the way people of all ages play games with their friends across devices, platforms and geographical boundaries,”

“When deciding how to place a bet we thought we should do it at a significant level and not just take a little shot,” Disney’s chief executive, Robert Iger, said in an interview. “Too often traditional media companies only put a toe or two in, and they deprive themselves at the opportunity for real growth.”

Disney on your Phone, your Facebook, yeah it could be fun.
