Bungie has YET to lift the rank cap....I'm really ticked off. I was hoping to do some shopping in the armory before I had to go to work... :-/ get your act together bungie and PLEASE lift the cap before I get home from work. Kthxbai.


Use this time (and space) to let out any and all frustration/anger towards bungie :-D or to talk about Halo Reach in general. Also what rank will all of you Lt. Colonel Grade 3's be when the rank cap is lifted? I'll be a Colonel Grade 2, I believe.

you didn't use the I am a big company with lots of money time conversion table. You must always add 7 hours and 7 mins to whatever bungie tells you then you have to add in the 6 hours and 66 mins that causes all microsoft related content to be late and you will come up with a tentative real release time. Of course, there is the users are pissed off so let's just turn on a half ready update so a couple lucky ones can get it and the rest can struggle with the glitches it causes to their systems. Do forget though, even when it is up and out to the masses you have the , this update sucks let down so it's probably better to act like it is never coming out. Then if and when it does, you can be surprised by it.

Lets start from the beginning...

This has easily been one of the most anticipated games over the last year. Halo fans are devoted, loyal and committed to the Halo universe. Reach is suppose to be Bungie's crowning achievement..learning from past mistakes and putting out a game that was essentially Halo "perfect" or as close to perfect as a game can get. While the basics are there....there just seems to be too many misses to overlook.

1st... How the hell can you make 4 extremely successful games and still have horrible frame rate issues and loading issues. Try playing campaign and not get stopped for 4 or 5 seconds while the next part of the map loads or have there be too many explosions in firefight...the game almost shits on itself. These are issues you do not find on other AAA titles yet on this game they are prevalent.

2nd.... The multi player maps....I hate COD, but MW2 came out with around 16 maps...all with unique art styles. Bungie decides that Halo fans don't need that many maps, because we have forge and what maps you are going to get are going to be remakes or forge creations. WTF!!! So instead of giving the player 15 maps with unique or individual art like most top notch FPS do they are going to give you what most fans can create....way to drop the ball on that one.

3rd...firefight is OK, but how many people play it when they are not trying to complete challenges? ODST's firefight actually was better and a lot harder.

4th... The Armor loadouts are a waste except Sprint, jetpack, and Evade. In fact I would prefer they go back to placing armour and equipment on the maps...it was nice to rush invis or overshield, but that is gone.

5th... Ranks...to me there is no point in ranking up...no real incentive. Personally I could care less how my spartan looks so being a Captain or Major or potentially general means nothing. The Ranks (1-50) were great because you knew where you stood in the Halo Hierarchy now it all based on how much you play. What am I going to spend the credit on... pestilence...what so I can look like pig pen from the Peanuts cartoons...

They're waiting till black ops comes out I bet. Don't get your hopes up we could've seen that business move from a mile away. They're all like "O HAI BLACK OPS IS COMING OUTTT, I KNOW HOW TO KEEP PEOPLE ON REACH, LETS MAKE IT EXTREMELY BORING RIGHT UNTIL BO COMES OUT!!! YAYYYYY"

And that should have been in Bungie's Weekly Updates.

But I agree with monk, there are just too many hiccups (to put it nicely) in this game. Maybe they figured that Halo 3 was so crappy that they didn't need to break the bank on this game. They just basically took a bunch of flawed game mechanics, threw them all together and covered them with a nice layer of aesthetically pleasing icing. They're so geared towards making the game more marketable especially to n00bz that they lost what made halo 1 and most of 2 great, the fact that they were hard as hell to master.

I was so excited pre-launch because I thought that Reach was going to be crazy good. It's still good and I enjoy it, but I really feel disappointed in Bungie. I think they owe it to their fans, especially those of us that have stuck with them since the release of Halo: CE, to make a totally kick ass game to end their run with Halo. Instead we get what would sell the most.

p.s. I'll be a colonel if they lifted it now but I'll probably be a General Grade 10239 by the time they get around to lifting it.
